i hope the date of wednesday july 14 is firm now, i took time off for work for the week after how it was first announced and then they moved back a week…

best sounding live band i've seen in quite some time, at the mews or otherwise.

he actually plays really well to large 'fest' crowds.

ironically i think their big headliners do a pretty bad job at big fest performances. spoon/walkmen are great at clubs like picador, and have been pretty mediocre when i've seen them at large outdoor fests.

two weeks away and still no openers announced, still not on mews' main page. what up with that?

for what it's worth, shane, if it's being moved, i can almost guarantee you it will be moved to an all ages venue. this band is all about the all ages shows, and i wouldn't have been able to book them at gabe's last time had the whole 19+ (now 21+) law had gone into effect. fingers crossed for white...

works for me, this band works best in huge warehouse type spaces.

epic bummer. ridiculous that it wasn't even related to a show/lots of people crammed in there but just late night stupidity of people recording. throwing a bass off the roof at 1 am? what did you think would happen?

i still think it's good and all, but if you read the ingredients list on a throwback bottle/can, it doesn't say it's cane. it's still refined sugar, just not hfcs/corn sweetener. you can do better when it comes to soda than throwback.

i fucking love godflesh but that band alone isn't enough to bring me to this. i bet bronson from iowa city goes, though.

speaking of great reunions, have you guys heard that sleep is playing more shows next year? if they come to chicago, i am there in heartbeat.

i've been watching both. peep show did get quite ridiculous, but it always does. peep show was done as of last week, only six episode series.
