Which was named/owned by the same people that had the one on 42nd in Des Moines. For some reason I thought the venue in Ames was spelled that way too. Guess I was wrong. Not the first time and I'm sure not the last.

You know they have about 2 shows a year that I go to see down there. So yes, I will admit it would suck if the place wasn't there.

I was having a few drinks a couple of weeks ago in the Alley and we were talking about this. Something that came up was the factor that the place was really never a club house for the scene where people went regardless of what was going on. The other thing was, why in the hell would anyone want to live next to that Alley. Can you imagine what it would be like to put up with all that noise in the Alley till 3am and then just as you start to fall asleep, the people starting heading to work or setting up for the farmers market. Another thing is if the Mews is doing well, why aren't they looking at moving to another location? There is a number of other parts of town they would fit well into. So I don't see why they would close just because of the lease.
