question about the MAXIMUM AMES FEST

Post by kurtis » Tue Jul 17, 2012 11:32 am

Does anyone know at all what ticket I have to pay so I can see Mount Eerie. Am really hoping its part of the Jeff Mangum or Wanda Jackson shows. I will gladly spend $20 or $36 just to see that one band but will not pay $100 for a full pass.

they did it last year too but didn't have any acts this significant. I'm pretty sure Xiu Xiu headlined, actually.

Tickets just went on sale today I think so I know more info will come out. I figured I would put this up here and see if someone was friends with anyone involved and could give me a heads up.

Yeah, this is the second year. Xiu Xiu did play last year. Would have been a lot cooler if it was Xiu Xiu from 8 years ago. :D

Kurtis, I'm pretty sure you should be able to buy a ticket just for Mt. Eerie.

A couple friends of mine helped put it together. This is the 2nd year of the fest. I haven't heard of a lot of the bands either, but Wanda Jackson is playing and that's all that matters!

The Prairie Fires will be pop in somewhere in there, I'm sure.

Elliot, i figured you might know something. I figured he would have some kind of a 'showcase' show. Saw The Microphones at the practice space and in Grinnel. Both were top 5 shows I have been to.

Jeff Magnum was in Neutral Mlik Hotel and was a recluse for years. Has only been playing out recently, so for fans that's a big deal. I like In the Aeroplane Over the Sea a bunch but am not jumping up and down about it because I'm not the biggest fan and it's a different time.

Mount Eerie would be great. I'd totally go see them if I could get a ticket for just that gig. His two most recent LPs are every bit as great as The Glow Pt. 2 and It Was Hot So We Stayed in the Water.
