im sure theres a ppmb thread, but i really dont keep up over there.

but yeah, the two new songs are their myspace are sooo fucking good. its nice to hear mikey erg singing pop punk again, if only for a few bars.

for everyone else who might like it (thom and crispin) houseboat is a new supergroup with ace and grath from the steinways, mikey erg, and zach from dear landlord/rivethead.

im so stoked on them right now

Yes...I did hear these. Saw the post on the PPMB a few days ago. So good.

Yeah...it is pretty bad when bands start writing songs about the PPMB and/or it's members as well (The Hextalls also have a new song out about a PPMB board member -"Mark Wilson"). Hah ,but that "Battlestar Galactica Vs. The Pop Punk Message Board Part VI: Grivet Loves Goats" song is SO fucking great. I love that it features Grath, Zack and Mikey sharing vocal duties.

Also, "30 Going on 13" is about as close as we'll get to a new Steinways song I think. The Grath + Ace songs are fucking great.

What do you think of Barrakuda McMurder? I got the "Slow Crawl" 7-inch in the mail last Saturday and it hasn't left my record player yet. Fucking rules.

But yeah, the new House Boat full length is supposed to be out shortly after the Insub Fest. It will probably be one of my favorite records of the year for sure. I can't wait for new Dear Landlord material as well.

I'll upload that Barrakuda McMurder e.p. tonight so you can give it a spin. It's great. If you're gonna run into Sam while out in the D.C. area, I think he has copies of it for sale?

Yeah...fuck having no vacation left after I go to the Boundary Waters in a few weeks. This is the second year in a row I haven't been able to go to Insub Fest. Have a good time out east though!

Why do you have to use Windows to get shit on your iPod? Too bad you don't have a Mac with you. This is a program for OSX that is pretty much the iTunes equivalent on Linux.

Had this been a PM I never would have heard this band.

30 going on 13 is gnarly. I'm stoked on this band.

If you all listened to shit like the Max Levine Ensemble, I'd be cool with it, but, unfortunately, shit ain't like that.

You're all a bunch of joes!

Nick - Have you heard Rvivr? How do you feel about it???

http://www.myspace.com/rvivr123
Thats the best stream of a song I can find, and I can't find any material up to download. It's pretty good. No latterman and certainly no shorebirds but if its what I can get I'll take it.

Yeah...from what I've heard of Rvivr, I like 'em. Although they do have one of the worst band names I've ever seen. The girl sounds a lot like the chick from Tilt. New York, and especially Brooklyn, have a shitload of awesome bands putting out great music right now.

I love all the Latterman/Get Bent family of bands too:

Get Bent
Iron Chic
Bottle Rocket
Red and Blue
How Do We Jump This High?
Yo Man, Go!
Thousandaires

You can download a lot of shit by these band for free at this link: http://www.ifyoumakeit.com/albums

Tons of good stuff on there and so many good bands.

Oh and Thom, if you like any of the bands listed above, you should also check out Wormburner. They are out of Michigan and feature dudes form North Lincol and Traffic & Weather. Great shit, especially if you like Get Bent.

Yeah, the split really rules. Some of the best stuff by either band to date. And.....I actually find myself liking The Dopamines side a little better than the Copyrights side (and I consider myself a huge Copyrights fan). The Dopamines are seriously getting really good.

Great parody with the artwork/title of the 7" too.

Yeah...I dig The Shorebirds, but am admittedly more of a Latterman fan. I like most of the "Latterbands" that have been popping up lately.

So how good is that Barrakuda McMurder 7"?

I'm just happy to see anyone make jawbreaker references here! Has everyone forgotten about how it felt the first time they listened to bivouac?

i love the slow crawl 7"...
im not a huge bivouac fan so the first time i heard it i think i was just like "oh"
im one of those fools who believes the slick production and direction they took with dear you makes it not only the best jawbreaker album, but one of the best 90s albums period.

Same. Like I said, hasn't left my record player since I got it. The Royal You may be one of the best things Grath has written.

Yeah...IfYouMakeIt fucking rules. They have some really great live videos on that site too. I cannot stop listening to that "How Do We Jump This High" demo. Shit jams. I think I like it even better than Get Bent, especially the first and last track.

Never heard of 'em until now. Just checked them out on MySpace. Not bad. I like the male/female vocal combo. That song Lunar First Class sounds sorta like A Radio With Guts or something.
