i think its mostly the packaging. most fridge hummus is plastic disposable. shelf hummus is usually in a can. the can ones taste... more like a can.

its much better when you make it yourself. garbanzos, olive oil, water, garlic, lemon juice. i usually add salt, pepper, red pepper flakes but you can add whatever. if you put it in the fridge and cover it with a small amount of olive oil it keeps for about 2 weeks(not that it lasts that long) and s...
