I miss the 80s conception of street punx as petty criminals

Post by SchizOIphrenic » Tue Jan 29, 2008 8:42 pm

As seen here in the film 'Terminator':
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jmm3pgVD ... re=related

Since when did punk rockers stop being seen as dangerous hoodlums on the streets?
Im from colorado originally,

also, repo man pretty much answers this question.

"let's go do those crimes you were talking about"
"yeah, let's get sushi...and not pay for it"

Only actor to get killed by an alein, a predator, and a terminator!

Yeah and repo man is another great example of this, I love the dude with mohawk that ends up getting fried when he made the mistake of opening up the trunk.

Gutter punk. Doesn't shower. Gets odd jobs from Manpower, wears the same patched up clothes everyday. Gets obnoxiously drunk and starts fights (and usually gets his ass kicked). Hates normal people, but hates artsy liberal hippy types too. infected piercings. Sleeps on a friends couch until they cant stand him anymore and kicks them to the curb. Probably a former IV drug user but claims to have kicked the habit. Mainstay bands are UK82 shit like Exploited GBH, and newer american stuff like Global Threat, lower class brats, and (older) Casualties.

Its actually nice to have a scene that just isn't all about screamo/hardcore yay hotcross whatever. But you dont see much of them in the midwest.

because these types of punks are rarely seen outside of high school.
Even today, I can't see a car run a red light without instantly having an image flash into my head of a man's erect penis, penetrating a watermelon.

Those bands do suck. Sounds like a depressing existence. I think you're a Communist if you capitalize "Casualties" but put a lower case "a" in American, by the way.

Maybe later today I'll see if I can't pin down the street punk thing a little closer.

I like all of those bands with the exception of A Global Threat and The Casualties (yes Herb, I used to like the Casualties until I got sick of them, get over it), but this thread is still gay.
