vaudeville mews the new house of bricks?

ive heard from promoters around town that the mews is no longer having hardcore shows. the reasons i was told is that it isnt cost effective cause though the shows are usually packed, not a lot of the people going buy beer. considering there are quite a few shows that there arent more than a handful of people at, im not sure why hardcore was singled out. anyone with more info want to confirm/deny the reasoning cause at this point, it sounds fairly stupid.

theres promoters around town?
i agree what that that would sound stupid.
my not knowing anything would be that theres a certain promoter that the mews doesnt want to deal with anymore.

yes.

ffc and metro concerts are no longer allowed to book them there so im not thinking its a specific promoter. we didnt do shows there anyway.

the house of bricks decided to stop doing hardcore shows because of low beer sales combined with them saying hardcore shows are too dangerous. if the mews reasoning turns out to be what i hear is is, they are comparable with shitty reasoning.

im not that familiar with either.
i do know of ffc a little and i didnt think he booked "hardcore" only? is it only the "hardcore" crazy tour packages that he books not allowed or just everything?

i dont know metro concerts but arent they basically dmmc?

have you ever been to any of those 5 or 6 band tour packages when theyve gone thru the mews? i specifically avoid them. too many people and crazy kids. and i have seen some damage/vandalism theyve done... but i wouldnt blame them.

i think theres too many definitions of "hardcore" and im getting confused.

i thought that had to do more with ho b fear of facecage fans filing an injury suit and getting sued because they couldnt control their crowdand h ob still has hardcore shows depending on your definitionssss

no they allowed facecage and the like still. no hardcore was allowed. after a yearish they started to slowly allow it back and now i think they even allow dancing as long as the booker has his own security. they feared lawsuits but never had one and had good insurance plus dance at your own risk signs posted.

The housing bubble happened, that's what happened. Answered my own question.

there is no upstairs. the entire building would have to be rebuilt from the inside out. its still a cop polla owned block. if theres money in it he'd rebuild it.

I guess you guys (DMHCC) can just run hardcore however you see fit

I mean, venues are cool and all, but whats up with the next spot ANYWAYS?

not sure on that.

dmhc never used the mews anyway. refused to work with ladd since he sucks.

no spot will be happening. this town doesnt want it to.

I would just like to state that I think Ladd is rad and that this town NEEDS a spot... I don't care if we want it, or not. Also, in my opinion, Mews is 10x the venue that H.O.B. ever was/could be
